Collection of fishes

Curator: Katarina Burzanović, senior curator

The ichthyological collection consists of 66 items, of which 21 are dermoplastic preparations and 45 are wet preparations that, besides museology, have broader scientific importance, because they represent the basis for research of diversity of fish fauna of Montenegro and Balkan peninsula.
The largest number of specimens is inherited from the former Natural collection, without adequate museum documentation. The collection of fishes contains 21 sea species and 20 freshwater species, mostly from the families of Salmonidae and Cyprinidae from Montenegrin territory.
