Public institution Natural History Museum of Montenegro has been established in 1995. Main task of the Museum is to perform the research of Montenegrin biodiversity and the presentation of it's values through exhibitions, lectures and publications. Museum has so far established 12 collections of flora, fauna and fossils. Museum employs 13 curators who conduct fieldwork research, collection of natural materials, scientific analysis, keeping, documentation and publication of the results. Museum also has conservation and taxidermy atelier and a library. Scientific staff comprises mostly biologists, of which 6 masters and 4 PhD's of different biological disciplines. Natural History Museum is the founder and publisher of the first electronic scientific and popular scientific magazine "Natura Montenegrina", since 2001. Natural History Museum is technically and professionally among the most capable institutions for multidisciplinary research of biodiversity in Montenegro.
